MUDE - MUSEUM OF DESIGN AND FASHION
In an international context, MUDE holds a unique spot as a museum, joining both fashion and design under one roof.
Based on the Francisco Capelo collection, acquired by CML, the museum brings together many of the most emblematic objects created from the mid-1930s to the present. Furniture and small utilitarian objects reflect the major design movements and trends of the twentieth century. The collection includes 1000 objects and 1200 examples of haute couture, and is still growing. You´ll also find garments, footwear and accessories, mainly from high fashion, weaving the history of fashion during the same period.

PALACE OF INDEPENDENCE
This is one of the most representative examples of 17th c. architecture in Portugal. Though visibly from centuries past, we can take a step even further back in time to the 14th c., from which exists a parchment documenting the sale of the house, when it changed hands to a family member, establishing it as the family´s main house or "Manor" house.
Set on land sloping up to the east and up against the Fernandina Wall to the north, it is inserted right in Lisbon´s historic downtown, northwest of Rossio Square, in Largo de São Domingos, at the entrance to the Portas de Santo Antão.
